MAPS RAINWATER HARVESTING PROJECT
MAPS Industries (I) Pvt Ltd, a Pune-based project management company is established in the year 2000. Under the guidance of our Environment Consultant Col. Shashikant Dalvi (Retd.), the Company has undertaken various sustainable development projects. The main objective of the company is to become self-sufficient and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. To raise the depleting groundwater level in low rainfall areas company has implemented water conservation methods like rooftop rainwater harvesting systems in urban resident societies, other organizations, and in villages. The company has received ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications in this field.
Achievement in water conservation work:
In urban areas rooftop rainwater harvesting systems in implemented in more than 550 residential societies, educational institutions, and government structures. Approximately 20 lakh sq ft of rooftop area is captured which provides rainwater potential of 12.5 crore liters every year for recharging the groundwater table through borewells/open wells. All these societies and other organizations have become tanker-free.
Under the Jal Atmanirbhar Abhiyaan, The rooftop rainwater harvesting system has been successfully implemented in rural areas in four villages on the Satgaon Plateau in Ambegaon Taluka of Pune and 102 villages in the drought-prone Beed District of Marathwada. Approximately 40 lakh Squre Feet of rooftop area is captured which provides rainwater potential of 28 crore liters every year for recharging the groundwater table through borewells/open wells. These 100 villages have become free from tankers, and the letter regarding this is given by Hon. Chief Executive Officer, Z.P. Beed. Due to this project, the water problem of nearly 5 lakh villagers has been solved forever.
Jalshakti Mantralya
This project has been noticed by Jalshakti Mantralya of the Central Government and in the year 2022 Col. Shashikant Dalvi (Retd) has been honored by conferring the prestigious “Jalpahri” award. In July 2017 “The Ministry of Urban Development” invited Col. Shashikant Dalvi (Retd) to brief the Ministerial community in Parliament on how to implement the Rainwater Harvesting Project for Metropolitan City. In the year 2023, the Maharashtra Cricket Association appointed Col. Shashikant Dalvi as “Green Consultant” on behalf of the National Green Tribunal.

The positive impact of the RWH project on social life:
Uncertain timing of water supply by tankers will stop the psychological distress, especially for women.
Their health problems such as physical ailments like shoulder pains, knee pains, neck, and backache in fetching water from long distances will be stopped.
Girl students will no longer afraid to go to school due to dirty toilets and fear of Urinary tract infections. Health hygiene and cleanliness will be improved thereby improving their quality of life.
The general health of the villagers will be improved due to the availability of safe water.
Rising groundwater table will help improve soil moisture content
Social development and rural development will result in economic upliftment and reduced poverty of the villagers.
ØWater will be available for drinking, cattle feeding, and all domestic uses.
It will reduce the tanker water bill thereby reducing the government expenses on the supply of water to each village.
As rainwater is purer and is injected directly into the bore well, the health of villagers will be positively impacted as a source of water from water tankers is usually unknown.
On completion of this project, these villages will become “Jal Atmanirbhar”.
The air quality of villages will be improved as it would reduce pollution due to CO2 emissions.
It will be observed that the availability of water in villages helps to generate employment and slow down the migration of labour force to cities and will ensure reverse migration to villages.
It will create awareness among the villagers regarding the effectiveness of rooftop rainwater harvesting and its benefits. Quality of life and productivity will immensely improve if the water is available, as the time saved in fetching the water can be used for other productive work
MAPS designing and shaping our world to digital world from today.

WE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEM
India is Facing a Major Groundwater Challenge.
Groundwater table is depleting and modern infrastructure is restricting the rainwater to percolate. The situation can’t be ignored when India’s reliance on groundwater is over 60%.
Residential Societies, Industries, Hotels, Corporates, Hospitals are buying water tankers at hefty rates.
The water table that took decades to build will not recharge on its own and instantly.
Total Rooftop Area of Village approx :
5.26 Lakh sq. ft.
Rainwater Potential of Village houses approx. :
3.15 crore liters
